On the 23rd February 2008 Bob and I had our Civil Ceremony.  Whilst we would have loved to have everyone we love to attend, regretfully we could not.

The Ceremony was held at The Taplow House Hotel in Buckinghamshire, described by themselves as "A peaceful haven" of which I totally agree.

The invitations were just the start of the preparations.  We have the venue and the registrars booked and just need to finalise on our own speaches.

Our "best ladies" and special friend went with us to the food and wine tasting and we are sure that all our family and friends will be well happy with our choice of food and wine for the day.

The photographer was there of course, we have never had so many photographs taken and novel at that.  We do urge you to visit his site and we truly recommend his services - tell your friends. Our pictures are here.

We had chosen the florist who also organised the cake. They saved the day and came in with 4 weeks to go as our first choice florist went AWOL.

We were fitted for our Suits.  It must be an odd company as they said our waist sizes were bigger than we thought, but who are we to argue with the experts.

There was light entertainent during the "breakfast" from a beautiful Harpist and afterwards there was the special suprise, once described as "the most famous unknown singer" in the UK, Diane Shaw, performed a most outsanding show for us all, topping what was a perfect day.

We had a great day out on the 26th January and went to see the matinee of Mamma Mia followed by a meal in Chez Gerard in a private dining room. There are photos on the next page.

The "honeymoon" is also booked.  19 wonderful days tour of Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam with Thomas Cook.  4 nights in Bangkok, 2 nights 3 days in Cambodia, 1 night in Bangkok, 4 nights 5 days in Vietnam and 7 nights in Krabi.  To make the overnight flight there a touch better we have chosen a better air carrier than when we went in 2006.

In June it will be one of Bob's special birthays and we are having a celebratory meal a few weeks before at Cliveden in the Boudoir.  The Boudoir is romantically decorated in blue drapes with large windows overooking the Parterre and lawn.

On his birthday we are going to Le Manoir Aux Quat' Saisons.
